Abstract:

Objective To investigate the effect of miR-502 on prognosis of patients with cervical cancer, and its effect on the prolif-eration and metastasis in cervical cancer cell Hela. Methods The relationship between miR-502 and clinicopathological characteristics of cervical cancer patients was analyzed. After overexpression of miR-502 in Hela cells, the proliferation of cells was measured by cell counting kit-8(CCK-8), while cell migration and invasion was detected using Transwell assay. Results Patients with high expression of miR-502 showed a better overall survival, but it did not correlated with tumor stage. Compared with the miR-502-3p suppressing group, the miR-502-3p analogues group significantly inhibited cell proliferation[(78.82±1.41)% vs (124.06±7.72)%, P<0.05], cell migration[(85.39±7.19)% vs (121.17±8.20)%, P<0.05], and cell invasion [(85.32±7.12)% vs (117.13±7.37)%, P<0.05]. Conclusions High expression of miR-502 can significantly  inhibit proliferation and metastasis by cervical cancer cells, and it may relate to better prognosis of cervical cancer patients.
