Abstract: Objective To establish the bank of serum specimen that are collected from cancer patients,for fully utilizing the resources to study tumor.Methods Blood samples were collected from cancer patients treated in Guangxi Tumor Hospital before and after surgical operation.Specimens of serum,plasma and lymphocytes were separated then.The specimens were deal with liquid nitrogen for 30 minutes and then stored at -80℃.All the specimen-related information was entered into the database which can be inquired at anytime.Results From patients with cancer in esophagus,nasopharynx,lung,stomach,liver,breast,intestine,uterus,ovary and etc,1021 portions of serum,921 portions of plasma and 950 portions of lymphocyte were collected,before and after operation.Conclusions A cancer serum specimen bank and its managements have been established initially,which can provide a service platform for cancer research in the future.
