Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of tumor suppressor gene PTEN protein in endometrial cancer and its correlation with clinical and pathologic references.Methods The expression of PTEN was detected with immunohistochemical methods in endometrial cancer,endometrial atypical hyperplasia and normal endometrial tissue,and the clinical relevances were analyzed.Results The expression loss rate of PTEN in endometrial cancer was significantly higher than that in endometrial atypical hyperplasia and normal endometrium(P<0.001),and was correlated with the the severity of proliferation and the pathological grade(P<0.05) but not with the depth of myometrial invasion and lymph node metastasis(P>0.05 ).Conclusion The expression loss of PTEN protein has played an important role in the development of endometrial atypical hyperplasia to endometrial cancer.
