Research advances in the pathogenesis of cancer-related sarcopenia

Abstract: Sarcopenia demonstrates high prevalence in patients with malignancies, being not only closely associated with tumorigenesis and progression but also significantly impacting therapeutic efficacy and clinical outcomes, emerging as a critical issue requiring urgent resolution in oncology research. This review aims to summarize the detrimental effects of cancer⁃related sarcopenia on patients and elucidate the underlying mechanisms, thereby providing a strategic guidance for advancing fundamental research and refining precision intervention approaches in this field.
