Abstract: Time toxicity refers to the temporal burden endured by cancer patients during medical activities such as diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation management. It typically persists throughout the disease period and is particularly pronounced in advanced cancer patients. Time toxicity can severely compromise treatment efficacy and quality of life, potentially offsetting the survival benefits gained from therapy. In recent years, with an increasing emphasis on personalized treatment approaches, growing research has focused on time toxicity, advocating for its inclusion as a decision⁃making indicator in clinical care and nursing protocols. This article provides a systematic review of assessment methods, influencing factors, adverse effects, and intervention strategies for time toxicity in advanced cancer patients, aiming to offer a reference for further research.
