Abstract: Objective To explore the influence of holistic nursing intervention on the quality of life of patients with ovarian cancer after chemotherapy. Methods A total of 84 patients with ovarian cancer treated by chemotherapy were randomly divided into a con-trol group(n=43),who received routine nursing care; and an intervention group (n=41),who received holistic nursing intervention. Patients were assessed before chemotherapy and 3 months afterwards using the Self-rating Depression Scale, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and the Quality of Life EORTC QLQ-C30 scale. Results After chemotherapy, the intervention group showed significantly higher scores than the control group for overall quality of life and for physical, emotional, and social function(P<0.05). At the same time, the intervention group showed lower scores on individual symptom dimensions of fatigue, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, and decreased appetite(P<0.05). Conclusion Holistic nursing intervention can improve anxiety, depression, and quality of life in patients with ovarian cancer following chemotherapy.
